How to Boost Your Self Awareness and Self Confidence

There are so many ways to build self confidence, but I think the most valuable one starts with building self awareness

Self awareness is the idea of intentionally learning about who you are, what you desire and what you want in your life. Cultivating self-awareness helps you stay grounded and focused on the present moment and deeply cognizant of your current reality.


When it comes to building confidence, you must be willing to stand firm in your values, beliefs, abilities, and desires. Having unshakable confidence means that you have developed a healthy sense of self and recognize your worthiness, standards, and gifts.

If you are not self aware enough to have identified your values, beliefs, abilities, desires, etc, then it will be very difficult to build confidence.

There are so many ways to build self-confidence, but I think the most valuable one starts with building self-awareness. 


So how do you start expanding your self-awareness? Well the simplest technique that you can do TODAY is journaling. Journaling is a form of self-expression through writing. You can buy a journal, or you can keep it simple by just using a notebook. You can also do things digitally by typing your thoughts on an online or saved computer document.

Journaling helps you to reflect on questions such as:

  • What am I thankful for?
  • How do I feel?
  • Am I happy? Sad? Why?
  • What do I want in my life?
  • What are my desires?
  • What changes am I willing to make to make my dreams come true?

The idea is to just let your thoughts and feelings free flow without judgement. As you start writing your thoughts and allowing yourself to feel your emotions, you will connect to a deeper sense of self. Connecting to who you really are is where the magic happens. In fact, this is the beginning of building your confidence and belief in goals.
