Wow, I cannot believe we will be celebrating a new year within the next 12 days! In some ways, it felt like time moved like a turtle. In other ways, it felt like it was turbo-charged fast.
Either way, the time has passed and the biggest question I have for you is: did you accomplish your dreams this year? Did you make any progress toward your goals? If you didn’t, I think I know what might have held you back.
You see, there was a time when I felt like I was not moving forward as quickly as I wanted to on my dreams and aspirations. When I started to reflect on what was blocking my progress, I realized this very important fact: I was not fully on board with my dreams. Meaning, I was not commanding my destiny- I was not the captain of my ship. I was saying what I wanted, but not doing the work to make anything happen.
It’s like being on a cruise ship that’s going to a beautiful island, then, before you depart, the captain says, “have fun, I’m getting off now”. If the captain gets off the ship, then who’s in charge? Who tells the crew what to do? Who checks in on the passengers to make sure they are safe? Who navigates the direction of the ship? Who keeps everyone focused on the course?
That’s what life is like when you are not the captain of your ship, i.e. your dreams. You must be willing to be the captain of your ship and get on board with your dreams. Give your dreams the plan, tell them where to go, and take action. That is the only way they will get accomplished.
When I finally decided to get on board and be the captain of my ship, I started to see my life change in ways I couldn’t believe. My health completely changed, I was able to leave a toxic marriage, I started 2 businesses, and I started healing my body, mind, and spirit.
So, if you want your life to change, get on board with your dreams and take the steps needed to achieve them!
