The other day I was thinking about the last ten years of my life. So much has happened! From divorce to getting laid off from my full-time corporate career to moving to a different state and starting a new business- the list keeps going.

During all of my time in transition, one thing I made time to do daily was writing in my journal. However, I didn’t just journal my thoughts. I dug deep and asked myself important questions that pushed me to think outside the box, such as:

  • What do I want in life?
  • Where do I want to be in 3 years?
  • How do I plan to change the world?

I also challenged myself to take action on what it was that I had written about while journaling. This type of journaling forced me to decide how I was going to make changes in my life. It also helped me gain clarity on how I wanted my future to look and feel.
